Where Does It Say They Who Recieve the Lord Shall Never Hunger Again

FAMINE / HUNGER

This Lord's words explained bible study document will discuss Famine / Hunger. In this document, I will show you that famine is a "scarcity of food," and that hunger is "to crave food; or, craving," and that God is indeed referring to the lack food for one's physical body, but also the lack of nourishing words for your mind and soul. In -

John 6:35 - And Jesus said unto them (the Jews) I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. - See - The Good Shepherd; Judgment of the Nations, also, Meat of God or Bread of Life.

In the above verse, while Jesus was speaking to the Jews at that moment, he is indeed referring to all of us

FAMINE

Definition: - scarcity of food

Ps.33:19-22 - To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine. (20) Our soul waiteth for the LORD: he [is] our help and our shield. (21) For our heart shall rejoice in him (the Lord), because we have trusted in his holy name. (22) Let thy mercy, O LORD, be upon us, according as we hope in thee.

Ps.37:16-19 - A little that a righteous man hath [is] better than the riches of many wicked. (17) For the arms of the wicked shall be broken: but the LORD upholdeth the righteous. (18) The LORD knoweth the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be for ever. (19) They shall not be ashamed in the evil time: and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied. - See - Mammon or Faith

Ps.105:15-16 - [Saying,] Touch not mine annointed, and do my prophets no harm. (16) Moreover he (the Lord) called for a famine upon the land: he brake the whole staff of bread.

Remember in the New Testament, John 6:35, Jesus said ...I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. Well in the Old Testament, the Lord's way is also the bread of life. If you will recall the story of the people wandering in the desert for 40 years, and the people were given meat by day and manna (bread) by night, you can read the story for yourself in Exodus 16.

staff of bread - Ps.105:16

Lev.26:26 - [And] when I have broken the staff of your bread, ten women shall bake your bread in one oven, and they shall deliver [you] your bread again by weight: and ye shall eat and not be satisfied.

ye shall eat, and not be satisfied - Lev.26:26

Micah 6:14-15 - Thou shalt eat, but not be satisfied; and thy casting down [shall be] in the midst of thee; and thou shalt take hold, but shalt not deliver; and [that] which thou deliverst will I give up to the sword. - See - Sword of the Spirit--Word of God. (15) Thou shalt sow, but thou shalt not reap; thou shalt tread the olives, but thou shalt not anoint thee with oil; and sweet wine, but thou shalt not drink wine.

Is.3:1 - For, behold, the Lord, the LORD of hosts, doeth take away from Jerusalem and from Judah the stay and the staff, the whole stay of bread, and the whole stay of water.

Again, remember John 6:35 - ...I (Jesus) am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

Zech.11:7, 9-10 & 14 - And I (the Lord) will feed the flock of slaughter, even you, O poor of the flock, And I took unto me two staves; the one I called Beauty, and the other I called Band (or, Binds); and I fed the flock. (9)Then said I, I will not feed you: that that dieth, let it die; and that that is to be cut off, let it be cut off; and let the rest eat every one the flesh of another (or, of his fellow, or, neighbour) (10) And I (the Lord) took my staff, [even] Beauty, and cut it asunder, that I might break my covenant which I had made with all the people. (14) Then I cut a sunder mine other staff even Bands, that I might break the brotherhood between Judah and Israel. - See - The Foolish Shepherd, to be typed soon.

Jer.15:2-3 - And it shall come to pass, if they say unto thee, Whither shall we go forth? then thou shalt tell them, Thus saith the LORD; Such as [are] for death, to death; and such as [are] for the sword, to the sword; and such as [are] for the famine, to the famine; and such as [are] for the captivity, to the captivity. (3) And I will appoint over them four kinds, (or, families), saith the LORD: the sword to slay, and the dogs to tear, and the fowls of the heaven and the beasts of the earth, to devour and destroy. - See Four Sore Judgments, to be typed soon.

such as [are] for death to death ; - Jer.15:2

See - Zech.11:9 above

appoint over them four kinds, (or, families) - Jer.15:3

Lev.26:16 - I (the Lord your God) also will do this unto you; I will even appoint over you terror, (or, terrible things), consumption, and the burning ague, that shall consume the eyes, and cause sorrow of the heart: and ye shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it. - See - Four Sore Judgments.

that dieth, let it die ; - Zech.11:9

See - Jer. 15:2 above.

Jer.42:1-16-17 - Then it shall come to pass, [that] the sword, which ye feared, shall overtake you there in the land of Egypt, and the famine, where of ye were afraid, shall follow close after you there in Egypt; and there ye shall die. (17) So shall it be with all the men that set their faces to go into Egypt to sojourn there; they shall die by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence: and none of them shall remain or escape from the evil that I (the Lord your God) will bring upon them.

by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence : - Jer.42:17

Jer.24:10 - And I (the Lord, the God of Israel) will send the sword, the famine, and the pestilence, among them, till they be consumed from off the land that I gave unto them and to their fathers. - See - Sword of the Spirit--Word of God, also see, Four Sore Judgments.

none of them shall remain or escape from the evil.... - Jer.42:17

Jer.44:14 & 28 - So that none of the remnant of Judah, which are gone into the land of Egypt to sojourn there, shall escape or remain, that they should return into the land of Judah, to the which they have a desire to return to dwell there: for none shall return but such as shall escape. (28) Yet a small number that escape the sword shall return out of the land of Egypt into the land of Judah, and all the remnant of Judah, that are gone into the land of Egypt to sojourn thee, shall know whose words shall stand, mine or their's.

This is a small group of people who follow God's ways that escape the sword.

Let us see what the New Testament says regarding famine.

Matt.24:7 - For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines and pestilences, and earth quakes, in divers places.

Mark 13:8 - For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes and divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these [are] the beginning of sorrows (Gr., birthpangs)

Luke 21:10-11 - Then said he (Jesus) unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: (11) And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilence; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.

The above 3 verses from Matt., Mark and Luke are describing the signs of the end times--the events which will take place before Jesus returns.

Now let us take a look and see what it says in Revelation.

Rev.18:8 - Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong [is] the Lord God who judgeth her.

II Peter 3:7-11 - But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. (8) But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day [is] with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. (9) The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. (10) But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. (11) [Seeing] then [that] all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy converstion and godliness.

I have included the above scripture from II Peter 3:7-11, to show you how long a day is to the Lord, as it says in Rev.18:8, that the plagues will come in one day, death, mourning and famine.... I personally cannot say how long these things will last.

But Paul tells us in: -

Rom.8:35-39 - Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? [shall] tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? (36) As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. (37) Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that love us. (38) For I (Paul) am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things to come, (39) Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

So you can see that famine while it is a "scarcity of food" for one to eat, it is also a scarcity of nourishing words of the Lord, for your mind and soul. But if we love God and Christ Jesus during the difficult times of tribulation, distress, persecution etc., that we will not be separated from God and our Lord Jesus Christ.

HUNGER

Definition: - to crave food; craving

As mentioned at the beginning of this document, hunger - a craving - is not only referring to the lack food for one's physical body, but also the lack of nourishment for your mind and soul.

Matt.5:6 - Blessed [are] they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

Luke 6:21 & 25 - Blessed [are ye] that hunger now: for ye shall be filled. Blessed [are ye] that weep now: for ye shall laugh. (25) Woe unto you that are full! for ye shall hunger. Woe unto you that laugh now! for ye shall mourn and weep.

[are ye] that hunger now - Luke 6:21

Is.55:1 - Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. - See - Fountain of Living Waters vs. Cisterns

Jesus taught the people from many different places, on the hillside, on the riverbanks and from a boat, and he fed the people by the thousands and never, never, charged the any money, that is what the above verse if referring. Documentation on tithing can be found in the following chapters:- Lev.27; Num.18; Deut.12; 14; 26; II Chron.31; Neh.10; 12; 13; Amos 4; Mal.3; 18; Heb.7 - See - Tithing and Charity - to be typed soon

I Cor. 4:11-13 - Even unto this present hour we both hunger, and thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted, and have no certain dwelling-place; (12) And labour, working with our own hands: being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we suffer it: (13) Being defamed, we intreat: we are made as the filth of the world, [and are] the off scouring of all things unto this day.

unto you that are full! - Luke 6:25

Is.65:13 - Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, my servants shall eat, but ye shall be hungry: behold, my servants shall drink, but ye shall be thirsty: behold, my servants shall rejoice, but ye shall be ashamed:

Many servant who teach, do not teach what the Bible is saying, so therefore the people hunger and thirst for the word of the Lord.

Deut.8:2-3 - And thou shalt remember all the way which the LORD thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, [and] to prove thee, to know what [was] in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments or no. (3) And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every [word] that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live. - See - Ten Commandments, also Meat of God or Bread of Life

Deut.32:24 -[They shall be] burnt with hunger, and devoured with burning heat, and with bitter destruction: I (the Lord) will also send the teeth of beasts upon them, with the poison of serpents of the dust. - See - Four Sore Judgments

Prov.19:15-16 - Slothfulness casteth into a deep sleep; and an idle soul shall suffer hunger. (16) He that keepeth the commandments keepeth his own soul; [but] he that despiseth his ways shall die.

Let us look and see what it says in Revelation about hunger.

Rev.6:8 - And I (John) looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell (Gr. Hades, the grave, or, resting place) followed with him. And Power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth. - See - Four Sore Judgments

to kill with the sword, and with hunger, and with death , - Rev.6:8

Ezek.14:21 - For thus saith the Lord GOD; How much more when (or, Also when) I (the Lord God) send my four sore judgments upon Jerusalem, the sword, and the famine, and the noisome beast, and the pestilence, to cut off from it man and beast?

and with the beasts of the earth - Rev.6:8

Lev.26:22 - I (the Lord your God) will also send wild beasts among you, which shall rob you of your children, and destroy your cattle, and make you few in number; and your [high] ways shall be desolate.

The document entitled Four Sore Judgments will explain the above scriptures.

Revelation chapter 7, is about those who overcome adversity from the 6 seals that have been opened and before the 7th seal is opened, the Lamb tells the angels to not hurt earth, the sea, nor the trees until he (God) has sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads. (Verses 1-3) Also see Sign, Mark and Seal of God

Rev.7:13-17 - And one of the elders answered, saying unto me (John), What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they? (14) And I (John) said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he (one of the elders) said unto me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed thier robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. (15) Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them. (16) They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat.. For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes. - See - Fountain of Living Waters vs. Cisterns

If you follow the Lord's ways he will protect you and feed you, if you chose to follow your own ways, then the Lord will deal with you any number of ways as shown above in the scriptures.

Ps.121:6 - The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.

Is.49:10 - They shall not hunger nor thirst; neither shall the heat nor sun smite them: for he that hath mercy on them shall lead them, even by the springs of water shall he guide them. - See - Fountain of Living Waters vs. Cisterns

John 4:14 - But whosoever drinketh of the water that I (Jesus) shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

Again: -

John 6:35 - And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

A good example of a story with both famine and hunger is the prodigal son in Luke 15. Perhaps you can see both the hunger for his stomach which is quite clear, but also the hidden story of famine and sinning against heaven and hungering for the word of God. As there are two stories within the "prodigal son" you will also need to read the document The Lost Sheep
